You use them after you wash your face. You will wash first and then on wet skin rub a small amount of them into the skin in circular motion and go all over your face keeping AWAY from your eyes and keeping the skin wet and adding more as you go or need and then after a few minutes of scrubbing you rinse the crystals off completely and your skin will be amazingly smooth and soft.  Try mixing them in with your cleanser too, avoiding eye area.
